BRIDGE ADVENTURES
London Bridge is ...
For this celebration London Bridge was called upon, on a cool still January evening we (all sixty of us) found ourselves scuttling though her underbelly. |
New Port 24
With the wind on my front, a bag on my back, my home for the next twenty four hours above me and a light on me from below; I waited for a gap in the traffic and then climbed the cold metal rungs of the ladder as quickly as I could. |
Willamsburg Bridge Passport check was somewhat more in-depth that I'd expected, facial and finger scans. But I skipped away into the new play ground as the Passport/Boarder Control man shouted 'Try to keep out of trouble' behind me... good advice! |
Newport Transporter With the ladder on not quite the same position as Middlesbroughâs transporter bridge, we began our climb. When at the top the differences became more obvious, this bridge being a suspension bridge of sorts and that from home being a solid blue metal structure. |
The Natural Bridge Refusing to navigate with torches, we slowly meandered through unknown paths by moonlight, taking unknown guessed shortcuts until a few hours later, we eventually reached the natural arch, or bridge ... and we all know how fond I am of bridges! |
