More Malian adventures
Hotel Libya
My sleep was broken by a knock, it’s 4:30 in the morning, I’m told to swiftly dress in clothes appropriate for a journey. It’s the day Gaddafi dies, it just hasn’t happened yet! |
Siby
Refusing to navigate with torches, we slowly meandered through unknown paths by moonlight, taking unknown guessed shortcuts until a few hours later, we eventually reached the natural arch. |
The Devil Inside
In Mali it is believed that everyone has a little devil inside them, and in those with disabilities, the devil is larger and so shows on the outside. |
Tour D'Afrique
Out of curiosity a night time visit was in order, this time no bribe was needed, although when his shift finished, the guard came up looking for us, only to find the hatch closed and no ladder in site. Not finding us on the stairs, nor in the lift, he soon returned with a long iron rod. I wonder what he assumed we were doing up there? And what was the iron rod for? |
Siby ...again.
Going back to Mali next month, I find myself thinking of Siby, the place I love so much..... |
