INSPIRE PROJECT
Women are losing out, according to the Women's Sport Foundation (WSF). In fact, in England, over 80% of women are not active enough to maintain their health. Young women leave school half as active as their male classmates.
The aim of the INSPIRE project is to encourage people to take part in sport by celebrating the achievements of Hartlepool`s young sports women. The project will contribute to tackling negative social preconceptions about women`s sport and will celebrate the marriage of art and sport to create a lasting legacy for the Olympic games of 2012.
An exhibition of this and other projects is to be on show in the Christ Church Gallery in Hartlepool at the same time as the 2012 Olympics in London.
